Tess Willemsen is a Recruitment Consultant. What began as a part-time job cleaning up the archives at Projob, Tess gradually developed into a full-time position as a recruiter. For a while, she combined the job with her studies. The highlight of that time was the semester she studied in New York. "When I heard that I could go on exchange, I knew immediately that I wanted to go to New York. I had been there twice before and I think it's a fantastic city. I feel completely at home there. It's great to be in such a big city where you can immerse yourself and anything is possible."
She studied at a beautiful, old university and lived within walking distance of Central Park. She found it to be a wonderful time. Although she got anxious right before she left about the idea of living all alone in a foreign city, she decided to just go for it. That's also how she deals with exciting things: not thinking too much about it, just doing it.
Tess enjoys the rhythm of working life. "I was ready for it. Combining studies and work was sometimes quite challenging. Some people take years to complete a thesis, but I didn't find that idea appealing. I'd rather push through and get it done. Now I can focus on my work and weekends are actually weekends." When she starts something, she sees it through to the end. Tess is results-oriented and loyal. She likes being part of a team. "I love building things up. When I do something, I want to do it well and get the most out of it."
